Who We Are

The Shallotte Electric Stores were founded by Alton and Edna (E.B.) Milliken along with two of their teenage sons, Al and Jamie. They rented a red and white grocery store building in June of 1971. The family stocked shelves and in some cases used empty boxes to give the appearance of a large inventory. Their timing in starting the business was good as the Brunswick County beaches became more and more popular. As Brunswick County Grew so did the business.

Today the Shallotte Electric Stores carry a complete line of Electrical, Plumbing, Waste Water, Lighting, and Major Brand Appliances. The Shallotte Electric Stores employs over 50 dedicated employees that share the founder's dreams of excellent customer service. Stop by today and see why we say:

Pricing, freight, & other charges

Many manufacturers enforce a "minimum advertised price". As we are an authorized distributor for the products we carry we are bound by these terms and therefore we may not be able to display the best possible price on our website. The pricing displayed here is for reference, please contact us by phone or visit one of our showrooms for firm pricing as we may be able to offer better pricing on some items.
Additionally, some items carry additional charges such as freight, or white goods tax (A North Carolina imposed tax on major appliances) which are not listed on the website. We do our best to purchase items on regular stock orders to avoid passing freight charges to the customer. Please contact us to discuss final price, availability, and any additional charges such as white goods tax or freight.
